Will this be fine for a short period of time or will it cos damage right away??
I had an injector start going bad so I put in a 6.2 injector that I've had sitting around, it seams to run ok but don't know the actual differance's between them other than thier lenght. THANKS

The 6.2 intector should not be a problem for a short time. The 6.2 has a lower injector pop off pressure. The 6.2 injectors are around 1800 stock and the 6.5 turbo were about 2200 stock. This is what mine measured with a OTC bench injector tester.

This will effect "timming" the 6.2 injector will mechanically fire sooner than the 6.5 injector because of the lower injector pop off pressure. This is why we like to have injectors measured and wihtin 100 psi of each other. It may not be enough to physically tell but it does inject the fuel sooner by a very short amount {Diesel PING gets louder}.

I think until you get a new rebuilt set of 6.5 injectors there should be no problem. I wouldnt be giving it hell towing for extended periods and if it was warm out it may be more crucial.

I am sure some may have a different opinion.
