Just thought it would be interesting to see how many miles some of you had on your LBZ's and what kind of issues or impressions so far. We are on our second LBZ it has 602 miles on it. So far OK. Our first had 5,030 miles on it and was great. But was totaled in an accident. I think the first one ran better. But maybe I need to give this new one a chance to break in before I really know. We haven't towed with it yet.

well my LBZ was built in 12/06 and got 560km on it. :D went through one tank of diesel. prolly would win the least mile contest with that. LOL
I picked up my LBZ on 7-5-06 and currently have 12,500 miles on it. No problems so far. Ed

Mine was built on 05/06, and I received it on Sep 1 2006. I currently have 9000 kilometers. Runs beautiful purs like a kitten but burns too much fuel, i fuel up every 400 km if im lucky. My economy gauge shows 21.5L/100km, which works out around 11MPG, i hope it gets better!

That doesn't sound so good to me. Where is the benefit of the 6 speed allison??? Do you drive mostly short trips in town?? Heavy foot???
My DIC on 05 LLY 3500 with 4x4 shows 13 l per 100 KM after 28000 km over last 2 months of winter weather. Haven't reset it for a couple thousand km
Now, that is quite precisely 5% optimistic, so reality measured is 13.7 = 20.6 miles per Imp Gallon = 17.2 US mpg
That includes a fair amount of local highway driving 90-120 kmh (60-75 mph), a few trips up to the local ski hill, a bit of driving around town getting groceries, etc. Normal driving here on Vancouver island.
I usually get 600-750 km when I fill up, most was 847 km, and that took 109.8 litres to fill it up - my tank is supposed to hold 128.
I have found that short trips and hills kill me. If it wasn't for the steep mile up to my house, my average would be a lot better.

HaulinRV should be closing in on 200,000 on his 06 soon. We are all a bunch of rookies compared to him.

yes i do a lot of city driving, i got big tires, and i will admit i have a heavy foot, i also noticed that the elevated idle mode in the morning sucks back the fuel also. Every weekend i go to the cottage to ski, and thats 200 km round trip. The most annoying thing is the size of the fuel tank, the most fuel i squeezed into the tank was 80 liters, and that was with the low fuel light on, but i find it annoying when i got to fuel up every week or should i say 350 to 400 km. i know i have a few factors that kill my fuel mileage but still, i should be gettin better numbers then those.

You could try to reset your DIC just after you get going on your 200km trip, and see what it reads when you get home.
It'll go way up l/100 on the uphills, but should come down pretty good on the way home.
If there is a good stretch of reasonably flat highway, and you reset at the start of that, you should be reading around 12-13 by the end of it.
If not, might need checking out, but dealers won't do a thing for you if you have oversized tires on it.

A lot of city driving with big tires and a heavy foot? No wonder. Should do that with a gasser and you get 6mpg. LOL How big are these tires? Mine is all orignal and not even broken in yet. The small fuel tank issue can be solved with an aux tank.
I picked mine up brand new on 6/15/06 and I already have over 66,000 on it.
Haven't had any problems yet (Knock on wood)
85% of the miles are highway.
The only thing I tow is a travel trailer from time to time.
I am getting anywhere from 18 to 22 mpg hwy(depending on winds and my foot).
LOVE the truck!

i got 315/35R24 tires on it now, and since the weather has been gettin warmer my fuel mileage has been gettin better also, installed the banks 6 gun in my truck and that helps with the fuel mileage. im gettin just over 500 km to the tank, but i still got a heavy foot. lol
