Will a set for a Big Block work? If so they should be easy to find.

They are peculiar to the diesel 6.2/6.5

Seeing how you live near civilization, the quick and easy solution, take a pair of your extra covers and have them plated.
I havn't seen any on the aution site, but have seen a chrome oil pan, passed on it,figered it would be covered in mud and oil,so far no oil,but i was right about the mud.
Good luck in your search

You will probably have to plate them yourself.

Here's an idea....
Have them ceramic coated. Nice looking finish, and they're easy to keep clean. I think ceramic is less expensive than chrome, but I've never priced something like v-covers. Much less prep work, too.

I'm gonna paint this engine Chevy orange and a set of chrome covers would sure look nice.
Sand blast the intake and with the Banks goodies up top it should look sweet.

Dual 4 inch exhaust with 5" chrome 45's the last 24 inches out the back.

Tired of Black engines with no class.
Time for some retro look!! ;0)

Robyn,

I've talked to a chrome shop down here about your request. He's saying about $100.00 for a set.

If you cant get your hands on some chrome ones, why not make some and have them chromed? I think some custom made ones would make it look even beefier, you got all the tools to do so on the ranch. Heck you could even modify the stock ones to change the look of them, then send them off to be chromed. On a side note, the other night on American Choppers they nickel coated a bunch of parts and I think that looked much better than chrome, it would be a different look.

Time to use that plasma cuttuer and welder that still havent been used :D

Doesn't DSG sell their engines with chrome covers? Might want to give them a call.

I think they look good in a lot of different colors.
I am just sick of semi gloss black on everything.
The engine on many older rigs were classy right from the factory.
I have had several chevies that had dress up stuff from detroit.

Chevy orange, maybe Cat yellow.
Taint goona be black though.

Why not, just hang out at the fav eatumup with your buddies and leave the hood open and try to look cool.

Used to do that stuff all the time as a kid.
What ever happened to the good Old days?? ;0)

I have done cross breading and I have found that once its done, the original owner may like it real nice but few otheres will ever be interested in buying a MUTT.

Did a 3208 Cat into a Ford 350 4X4 once, was a beast.

I will stick with the GM stuff in GM and Ford in Ford and Mopar in Mopar

Ok Cummins in Mopar
