I was wondering what y'all think about running 180 degree thermostats as opposed to stock temp. I am not having overheating trouble, just thinking that I would like to keep temps down in general. Any disadvantages?

Norm, I've been running dual 180's for several years now. No problem with overheating, towing in the heat of summer, no problem with lack of heat in winter. I know that the engine was designed to run with the higher temp stats, but I can't recall any problems. smile.gif

I have the 97 cooling up grades on my 96 and have been running 180's since and no problems yet. I live in the desert where temp's have hit 300 plus degrees, (not realy but 120 plus feels that hot) I feel it helps keep trany temps down as well as coolant when towing my boat.
