i did a search and all were locked..
my owners manual says to use sae 80w-90 "lubricant" in the front,
nothing about a synthetic...
i replaced the rear with synthetic, and would like to do the same in the nose end..my manual called for sae 75w-90 synthetic in the rear..a bit of a difference between the two..one regular lube and the other a synthetic..
anyway...what do you think?

The OEM spec for the front diff is dino 85-90. A bulletin updated this to the same spec as for the rear for very cold climates, synthetic 75-90. I use Amsoil 75-90 in mine and no problems for over 100K. The bulletin also indicated a need to change the vent plug/nipple to be compatible with synthetic on early trucks, but yours should have the later plug. Mine is the early plug, but no problems with that, either. It probably depends on the brand of lube.

I had bought the new plug several years ago when mine was changed. It's still in the box. If it ever starts to seep I'll put it in. It's been changed once since then also.

Nothing wrong with that. Good stuff, and just the right amount.
