I was wondering if the 6.2 L has the same transmission bolt pattern as all other small block chevy engines. Could it be bolted up to any th350 or th400 transmissions. I have 1999 S-10 Zr2 and other guys are easily swaping out 4.3 for 5.7l vortechs. The engine mounts are matching up and the 5.7L bolts to the transmissions. However, I would rather have the diesel.
They do use the standard Chevy bolt pattern, so it'll bolt to any tranny used behind a SB or BB Chevy. Whether the tranny will live long behind the diesel is another story, although I guess you can say that if an earlier 700R4 handles a stock 6.2l then a TH350 should as well. I think your problems will be in the weight and size/clearance areas.

Thanks for information. How much larger is the 6.2/6.5 than the 5.7 gas?
