Of those of you that have "chipped" your D-max controllers:
I'm looking for an increase in fuel mileage. I've got an '01 D-max with ~96K on it. I'm getting roughly 17.5 - 18.5 combined city/hwy mileage, which I understand is somewhat typical. I'm looking to improve this however.
If I upgraded the chip in my ECM for higher torque output, will I also see some improvement in fuel mileage as well? One guy stated he had his old Ram Cummins "chipped" and got both torque and mileage improvements. What's your experience? Am I wasting my $$$ on something like this or is it worth it?
Thanks
