View Full Version : Does increased torque come with increased fuel mileage?

I've got an '01 Max, 3/4ton HD. It's got ~96K miles on it and so far, it's been running well- just a few minor failures. I was thinking of looking into a performance chip to bump up the torque output of the engine, but I'm wondering if I can expect an increase in fuel mileage as well? I'm getting around 17.5 - 18.5 mpg, which I understand to be somewhat average. Still, I'm looking for a little more out of a gallon of diesel.

What have you guys found that have already "chipped" your Max engines?

Thanks

I think no matter how I chip my 6.5 I,m not going to fool it into believing its a D-Max unfortuately. LOL Me thinks you posted with the wrong guys.

When I ordered the increased torque I did not ask ahead of time. My mistake.

When it arrived there was no increased fuel mileage in the box.
