Hi just finished a complete teardown and rebuild of my turbo400. Just wanted to say, it was alot easier than I expected. I would recommend anyone out there thats going to attempt it to purchase a lip seal installer, a small spring compressor or 2 good 4" c clamps. you will need em :) Also you get what you pay for when you buy a rebuild kit, so dont cheap out and try to save 20 bucks, go buy a good one and have fun. Can't wait till it breaks so I can rebuild it again :) Don't tell my wife that....hehehe
Amen :0) Could not have said it better myself.

I can't tell you how much better my th400 performs with red eagle clutches, koleen steels, shift kit and heavy duty low stall converter !!!!
x2 on the right tools!! Getting the snap rings on without tearing the lip seals is what I thought was the hardest part too!
The 700 is not too bad to rebuild, just takes a few more special tools.
The issue with the 700 is the Sun shell and the input drum/shaft assy.
Good clutches, 2-4 band and some reprograming and the little 700 will hang onto some real power.
