Injection pump

Well now it is my son's truck ,about 3 month's ago the fsd whent bad .
Of course they only changed the fsd not the pump too.
Now the pump is out at 85,000 miles and i have to pay an extra $100.
Such is life :mad:

Under Special Policy #00064D dated 5-13-03 you DON'T have to pay any deductable!!

This covers all trucks up to 2000.
11 years or 120,000 miles

Well on the older ones yes,BUT (and i hope your right)I think they are not covered on not paying the $100 , it's a 2000 model.

I have recently had the pleasure of getting a close up look at "Special Policy # 00064D" (unfortunately). It clearly states it covers models from 1994 to 2000, no deductible, up to 120,000 miles/11 years. It also states the only remedy for a qualifying repair is to replace the pump and PMD.

The pumps and PMD's cannot be taken out of normal dealer stock. They must be aquired from a special supplier (GM/Stanadyne warranty replacement). There is no core or return, and the instructions clearly state to strike the defective pump and PMD with a hammer until all parts rendered useless/unusable.

If the dealer replaced only the PMD, they did not do a warranty repair on it. The dealer stole $100 from you. They owe you a new pump with installation, $100 and an apology.

The GM's warranty letter (00064D) that Jim Bigley put on this web site is a copy of my own letter I received from GM a few months ago. My model is a 2001.

In fact, the 6.5 was installed in the 2002 Express/Savana vans too, and they are covered the same.

I'm looking at the 00064D doc & I don't see any exclusion of process to just a whole IP R&R. The doc includes (near the bottom) under "Submit a Special Policy Claim..." instructions for billing GM for an FSO replacement, and for a FSD replacement, each w/out R&Ring the IP (1 hour labor total for FSO, ~3hrs for FSD (cuz the boobs are still putting it on the IP so it'll cook faster)).
Where did you see that its a whole IP always?

Gee, for $270 in labor to R&R the PMD, they could buy fsd coolers & save a bundle!
