I just put my S&B air intake system on. Installation required that the Plastic manifold cover be removed along with the stock tube and air box. I thought it was odd that a 2" rubber elbow branches off the stock intake tube and connects to the plastic cover and goes nowhere. What is the purpose of this rubber tube? All I could see was it gave the cover a little more support at the front than the bolt at the back. Am I missing something?
