The rear seal is starting to leak on my engine.
1. does the oil pan come off w/o taking anything else off?
2. with pan off then what?
1. No
You have to drop the front differential down and pivot it some for clearance. Its a PITA to turn and twist it just so to get the oil pump pick up tube to clear the windage tray and get the oil pan off. I had my transmission and cross over pipe off at the time which gave me a little more room. Have read others doing it with transmission on.
2. The rear seal on a 6.5 is one piece. You still have to remove transmission or slide it back then take off flexplate to acess rear crankshaft "face".
Are you absolutely sure its the rear seal? The oil filter adapter and oil pan could be leaking and misleading you some maybe??
