Hello,

I have to preface this question with things in New Orleans are much different then other parts of the country. . .that may seem obvious because of the storm but that's not what I'm talking about.

Will someone offer a name brand and distributor of anaerobic sealant for my water pump gasket?? I've asked a couple of the parts stores in my area and the usual response is"anar-what. . .here take this RTV silicone sealant it'll work too". I have a hard time believing them when so many others on the internet have specified anaerobic. Thanks

Give Loctite 515 a try.

GM part #1052943. This is what I used on mine. No leaks.

I've used "loctite 518" before, not sure about the 515, or which one would be better for your purpose.

OR, get a Fel-Pro gasket from the parts store and coat it with the Brown aircraft sealant and install the waterpump. Makes for a good seal that you can take apart and cleanup later in the event you have to.

4 different answeres to one question. None stating they meet the specified material. No wonder we get confused.

Not sure what "none stating they meet the specified material" means, but the GM sealant, Loctite 515, and Loctite 518 are all anaerobic sealants, and that's what he asked about.

I was unaware that the Loctite items were anaerobic sealants, all that was given was a product number.
