Finaly found my pic I took of the timing gears after I put em in. I just noticed that the dots didn't want to line up so I got it as close as I could??

With the crank rotated just ccw a little, the dots will be more in line, so that is right on.

If you were to straight-edge the camshaft centerline to crankshaft centerline, the dots would align - the tooth off-set is due to idler-gear mesh, or lash

Now, check idler-shaft to timing-cover clearance, and yer good to go.

cool thanks!!! I just get white smoke out my tailpipe instead of black and thought maybe my timing gears were off??

White smoke is normal for winter temps, but the IP may be retarded a little, or the advance mech is faulty.
