Has anyone tried the GM Performance Air Intake Kit

I have a 2005 2500 HD with 25,000k. I just wanted to see if anyone tried it yet - it is a new dry filter with airbox from GM??? I am also looking at the Volant, in 3 to 4 weeks they are changing their filter to a dry type , Like the Donaldson..What do you guys think???

Sure. Lots of folks have tried it. It comes stock on 2006 and later HD trucks. It is a lot better than previous OEM systems.

Are we talking about the same intake? My friend has a 2006 but his does not look like this:

We are not talking about the same thing. The system you refer to is not for Duramax trucks. The new (2006+) Duramax intake is very similar in design, though.

When I went to the GM site and entered 2005 Duramax this is what it came up with???

The application only shows for the 5.3L and 6.0L gassers (Gen III). I don't know what your parts guy was seeing.

I guess I will wait till Volant changes to the donaldson dry filter in a few weeks..
