View Full Version : intercooler
Have run my 80 model cc with the 6.5td all summer now without many problems. I want to swap in a intercooler to help out with more power. How would one find out how big to go? I have one off of a cummins powered dodge but just can't make room for it. Also don't want to take air flow from radiator to start overheating by going to big. Any suggestions?

Odee,
Early this year a couple of members were hashing out the same question.

They each had an idea, and were going to see how they worked out. That was were it was left.
Maybe they will chime in and help.http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hi
I am building a charge air cooler for my 90 classic body crew cab,i started last winter and hope to finish it this winter. i used a cooler from a 01 dodge,it fits like it was made for the spot i chose.I opened up the rad suport getting more airflow to the rad.I'v spent a fair bit of time on it but when finished it will look stock from the out side, and will look clean under the hood.
if you are interested in some pic's i could e-mail them to you.
By the way i'm one of the guys from last year doing this, hopefully next year i can say i did it.

hello all,
Yukon: would it be possible I could get a copy of those pics if it is not too much trouble?
Thank you in advance,
Don
PS You can email them to saintnick80@yahoo.com
Yukon, is the dodge ic you use the all aluminum? one? I have on I got from a buddy that has a body shop missed a ford on by a day or two that got throw away. How did you mount it? How big? What turbo set up is on your truck? Got pics? thanks
forgot to put email in. jeeps75@adelphia.net. I think you will like the way the truck turns out. I think mine has turned out pretty good for what I have in it.
