I have '97 6.5 litre, it cranks over but will not start. I turn the ignition on but do not get any dash readings [like seatbelt, start engine, etc.]. I have checked fuses and found all fuses work except IGN-E, FUEL SOL, and GLOW PLUG with ignition key turned on. The heater and wipers work but the turn signals do not. I have redone the battery conections with the 3/8" by 1 1/4" coarse thead bolts to make sure contact is good. I have even tried jump starting to get extra juice but it did not work. Can anyone help me???

Did you clean the pos+ cable from the r/s pass side going to driverside battery? Pull it apart, they get really corroded/burnt under covers and between each cable end.

Once all cable ends are clean, grounds are tight and you stll have problem perhaps its time for batteries.

I had a simular problem with my 88 last year and it ended up being a bad fusable link.

Thanks Guys
It took a week of testing different area's but the problem was poor contact on ignition switch wire in steering column.
