while idleing with everything turned off, the motor will go up and down by like 50-100 rpm(showing ont he stock tack) this normal?

And how often should I replace the pvc valve on these motors?

Thanks......again! :)

Normally, a healthy 6.5 will have a pretty smooth warm idle. There could be some variation while cold. Might be a good time to measure the timing chain slack.

Fleet mechanics typically solvent clean the CDR (Crankcase Depression Regulator) on an annual or semi-annual basis. There's not much inside to wear out. Just clean it, and ensure the spring & valve move freely.

my 88 6.2J does this from time to time. i'll be sittin at a light(engine fully warm) and the headlights will dim for a second as the motor bogs down for just a split second. I think well I have been sittin here at this light for a good 40sec. irs good and warm no blinkers, what the heck could make it bog like that?
