I have electrical issues on my 97 Burb K2500 6.5TD. I found some suspect grounds, repaired them, and still get a variety of bizarre codes:
P0251, 0236, 0370, 0606
These all made me assume perhaps I have a faulty ECM. I found a used one at a local recycler. I plugged it in, hoping that it would work, but no. Engine cranks but as soon as it catches, it dies. Won't even run for a second.
Called the dealer to see if they could program the new ECM for my suburban, but they gave me all sorts of reasons why they can't "we don't work on vehicles with more than 100k miles", "we can't program it without the vehicle"
Does anyone know what my alternatives are? Who else can program this ECM to run in my Burb? It would be very difficult to get the vehicle to someone to program it (it tops out at about 20 mph with the old ECM). I looked at the bare PC board, and there are no replaceable PROM chips, everything is soldered permanent.
Thanks
