I have purchased the 97 cooling upgrade kit for my 92 GMC Sierra and would like to know what modifications need to be done to the dual t-stat crossover and/or throddle bracket and cruse cable/bracket?
Has anyone done this?
Any pictures, details?

Thanks...

I haven't put on my cruise control yet, but using some of MP's design work and a little of my own, I came up with this.

All the pictures plus bracket templates are here: www.oliverdiesel.com/images/dualtstats/ (http://www.oliverdiesel.com/images/dualtstats/)

I think that Yukon6.2 has got a similar project going, so he might have more advice to offer.

taznj63, Refer back to your "Turbo?" post. I put some info there that my be helpful. TDP bracket only uses 1 piece of metal 4 bends.

I have just finished my cooling up grade.I used the patern from More Power for the outlet housing. I used the templets from Dieselboy for the supports. After i built everything,i added my own touches,I do have a few pic's i could e-mail you if interested.
Some advice, measure everything twice, and bolt up everything befor you make final welds. At one point i thought i had it ready to weld up,and figered i better double check everything. Good thing because the throttle wouldn't open all the way
Tommor i get to put the first miles on the truck

I'm interested to see what modifications you made. I've already got another template setup for high idle and better access to the coolant bleed screw. I haven't put on a cruise feature yet, and want to see your ideas.

Last I heard, JK ( http://www.kennedydiesel.com ) was offering complete 1997 hi-cap cooling kits for the 1992-93 6.5 equipped trucks. He is including the modified t-stat housing and bracket with the kit for the mechanical pumps.

The bracket design in the 1999 Feature articles & supplement will give access to the bleed screw and uses a portion of the old bracket so throttle and cruze can be used and be in the same location as b4.FYI
No need to make separate brackets for each.

Grape,

to clear the tensoner bracket you'll have to take off the alternator and then the bracket and do some grinding, here is what I did. (pics of the grinded spot).

Here is the throtte cable bracket on our 95 DB2 equipped Suburban. Based on the template from the 2001 reprints, but with some changes. This bracket can be removed without removing the rad hose. Front cable is throttle, rear cable is cruise. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/40/40448/pages/444207/thr-brk.jpg
