Lost boost

Hi all.

Lately I seem to be having a boost problem. At highway speeds i will be cruising with about 5-7 psi of boost and then I will loose all boost and a light comes on that looks light a small motor (not sure what it is called but not the SES light). If I increase pedal the light goes of and boost comes back utill I cruise again. This is only at highway speeds. Any ideas?

Sounds like vacuum problems which result in EGR and Boost problems. Your 1500 has EGR.

I don't recognize the lil motor thingy, so someone else?????

Seems I had my boost fooler turned up too much. Funny it only threw the light on at high speed cruise :confused: . Oh well all seems well now.

Good, and it just dawned on me - you were seeing the Check Engine lite - my old truck does not have icons. Think mine just sez Check Engine.
Gotta spell it out for us old duffers. ;)
