Hi guys,
could my transmission be making like a grinding noise when idling or am i dreaming?
sometimes you could hear the noise, if i step on the diesel(not the gas)it will go away, some times it will make the noise and sometimes it won't. I have not been able to test drive this truck on a long trip because I work and because it kind of starts to get hot after like 10 min. driving it ,it's running about 220 most of the time and sometimes even almost close to the 240 but it will go down if i get off the freeway and go on the streets, it still runs about 220 on the street, is this normal or is it because of my transmission not keeping up with the 6.5 engine?the vaccuum regulator valve is not working so i pluggd the two hoses together for now, it shifts up ok but i do not get the last gear out of the transmission, like if i'm on the freeway and start hitting the 55 and over, it kind of feels like the transmission is not responding after that and that is probably when the engine gets hotter, could it be because i'm not using the vacuum regulator? i replaced the dual thermostats and i guess they are both working, i just don't understand why it will be always running 220? i got my radiator rebuit, i don't think that will be my problem. Any help will be appreciated . Thank you guys.
