I am trying to find a cruise control servo and cable for a 94 6.5L TD. GM doesn't have them anymore and I can't seem to find them listed anywhere. Any help? It's actually for a motor home application and I am getting 0 help from the manufacture. I am hoping that the cruise control will be the same as for other GM applications.

TIA

Welcome to the Forums!

www.gmpartsdirect.com shows them available.

The cable is #15679743, and is ~$20.
The cruise module is #25315088, and is ~$300 (ouch!).

There was no separate listing for the servo. Send them an email, and they will help, if it's possible.

The 94 is electronic and the cruise should be also just as in the Burbs?????????????????? Me thinks unless I missed something here???

Yeah, Robyn, you probably did, but only because you're used to LOGIC. An example: My '94 motorhome (with the 6.5L TD in pusher config) is really a '92-'93'-94 Barth Breakaway. The chassis (with drivetrain) was built in 2/92 and delivered to Barth 5/92. Mine is the prototype for the '94 Breakaway (prior models had far less basement storage and the Cummins 5.9L [160, 190, or 210HP] coupled to an Allison 4, 5, or 6 speed). Barth worked on the thing until 6/93, and due to the significant changes, labelled it a '94 (and it's titled as such). But the drivetrain, chassis electricals, and instrumentation is pure '92.

Now mine's an extreme case, but many, many motorhomes of one year sit on a chassis/drivetrain one or two model years old. My '89 Fleetwood Class C actually sat on a chassis of 4/88 (best of all, it was a transition year - some metric, some SAE).

So Todd could really be looking for a '92, '93, or '94 (doubtful the latter) set of parts. My bet would be for a '93.

Todd, more info on the motorhome might help...

Todd:

All of the early 90s (anything with a throttle body, carb or pre OBDII) should have the servo you are looking for, assuming yours is not vacumm actuated. These are usually pretty well made and your local wrecker should have lots. Look for the 91 to 93 Buick, Chev, Cadillac "B" body cars (Roadmaster, Caprice, Fleetwood Brougham) with the 5.0 or 5.7 TBI engine) Anything after mid 93 more then likely has the LT1 engine in it with the cruise incorporated into the FCU. Any of the other rear drive v8s from GM should also have it but can't be sure.

Hope this helps

I'm gonna bet he's got a vacuum servo.

But (double or nuthin') I'm also gonna bet the problem is vacuum-related - many motorhome manufacturers stuuf an engine into a compartment with much less space and airflow than a pickemup...and the hoses, etc. deteriorate more quickly due to the heat.
