Hi guys, my orginal jack died the other day and I am just checking to see what people are using for replacements. The original bottle jack was only so-so, and I'm wondering if a Hi-Lift will tear off the bumper. Any other replacement jacks work well for this? (Don't really want to carry a floor jack) Any ideas?

thanks,
jon

While a Hi-Lift can be priceless on the trail, it is not practical for roadside use. It can also be very dangerous. It will damage the bumpers. I suggest getting an OEM replacement from a wrecking yard (it'll fit on the OEM holder), or a hydraulic bottle jack if you can't find the OEM. Either should be inexpensive. The Bottle style jacks (the OEM is actually a screw-jack) are best, and safest, for portable axle jacking.

many of the U-Pull it yards will practically give you one of the factory jacks.
I got one for my Burb for $5
