Something funny about fuel pressure test port

I was looking at how the fuel lines were routed to and from OEM filter tonight and out of curiosity I unscrewed the cap of the fuel pressure test port. When I did I heard a little hiss like pressure being released and there was diesel in the port. Is this normal?

Neither a hissing sound nor fuel is present in my test port when I take off the plastic cap. I would guess that the test port is not sealing well...

My LBZ did the exact same thing when I unscrewed the cap a while back.
