Dtc P0101

Hey guys can anyone tell me what evil lukes behind the trouble code P0101?
I have a CarCode and after clocking up a couple of hundred K's thought I would check for trouble codes. In the pending window was P0101 Mass Air Flow System Performance. Anyone have any ideas of what I should be checking?

Your MAF sensor is loose, dirty, or failing, or you gotta dirty air filter - check it out.

Also be a good idea to indicate the flavor of your vehicle - year, make, model - if you want efficient troubleshotting response.

Oh buy the way its a 1998 K1500 Siverado and I have now included the details in my signiture.
Was concerned the code may have been indicating a turbo boost problem.

You might pull the airbox offa the fender to check the entire intake path for rags, leaves, weeds, hapless critters, etc.

Maybe a long-forgotten run-in with a loose wallaby? ;)

Thanks Gmctd, NoelB and I are around 3000 Km apart however we have been talking over the phone and email quite a bit. I have found Noel very helpful with understanding the CarCode software and it's great to be able to pick up the phone and discuss some of these problems.
