cooling system mods

Has anyone tried running cooling lines from the back ports of the cylinder heads to the front and into its own thermostat housing? I want to try this but if someone has already ruled this out I would like to know why. Putting a 6.5 turbo in
a pusher motorhome--need all the cooling I can get.
