I have a 86 k5 with 6.2 and i'm putting a order into summit on tuesday. Anyways I would like to order a few gauges and want to make sure they will work on my blazer!

I would call to see if it works off of the Alt. This is how the Tach work on the diesels that come OEM on the newer 6.5

I believe the tach on the newer 6.5's is driven from the ECM via the crank position sensor input????????

It's actually driven off the alternator too, just internal to the alternator.

The tach described above will likely work well with the 6.2, it's got a external sensor that straps on the outside of the alternator via the biggest hose clamp you can buy. I haven't tested it's accuracy, but they're supposed to be "close enough."

That's a nice gage, but....
Be sure to get a probe with a rating of 2000
