Anyone using the OilGuard bypass filters. Many large trucking companies have added these filters to their rigs. They use oil testing and extend the drain intervals. Takes most of the 2 micron and larger material out according to their tests. After 2 or 3 times the normal oil change intervals the tested oil is typically better than the beginning oil. I am more interested in removing the 2 to 35 micron particles, than extending oil change intervals. Like Dr. Lee says additive package does not show up in particle testing. I have a local rep near by. Unit is $120 to buy and $12 for filters. I see they have added themselve to our list of "prefered" vendors.

Craig,

I don't know about that brand, but I like my by-pass oil filter setup.

The brand is Dr Lee's :D

It was simple to put together and I think any correctly designed by-pass filter can do nothing but help protect you engine.

There are lots of different by-pass filter setups out there, so spend some time looking before you leap.

The info on Dr Lee's can be found in the reprints of the The Diesel Pages Articles.
