Finally got the tranny temp gauge installed, Isspro EV series, looks great, even with the redneckish install on the door side of the 2 gauge pod. On the business end, welded a tapped piece into the pan for the sending unit.
Not trying to start another opinion war here, but what's a good temp to stay under?

ttt anybody?
I like to keep mine under 200. It usually runs at 180-190. I have a chart somewhere that said every 10 degrees cuts fluid life in half. It was something like at 175 degrees fluid lasts 200,000 miles, at 185 it lasts 100,000 miles and so on. I usually change my fluid and filter every 30,000 anyway though.
Check out this chart (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showpost.php?p=187632&postcount=7).
