I also have classic FSD probs in my N/A 6.5L 94 Ralley Van. How do I find the part number that will work in my engine? Im thinking about getting a good used unit before I take it into the Stealer to make sure that is the problem. I know I sound pretty Green But this is the first problem I have had with this vehicle after only 85,000 mi.

Briefly, you want the latest FSD. They're interchangeable on electronic 6.5Ls.
But goto the 6.5L forum and search to read FSD/PMD posts. They're are two things you can do which might regenerate your current module.

Good Day!

Massive amounts of FSD/PMD information was summarized in FSD, PMD, PMD, FSD -or- It's 10 pm - where is your FSD? (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=005199#000000) (Click on the colored text.) This topic was preceded directly by three other long topics, which was preceded by years of trying to figure these things out.

Blessings!

The stanadyne # for the latest model is 34583 and the GM # is 12562836. It's marked on the face of the FSD.

I have bought a couple off Ebay cheap to use as spares for two trucks and found them to be ok. My son is running one now and another for a spare (tested long term). I'm keeping one also in case my new warranty pump FSD fails. Just have the understanding a bad unit is returnable.
