View Full Version : Confirming, before I call JK, pump and injectors?
Getting ready to buy a pump and injectors. Engine runs, nasty idle, no air, easy to start hot. With pump timing lines aligned, massive amounts of white smoke, no rattle. With the pump advanced to the max, some white smoke, still no rattle! Engine performance is absolutly horrible! No black smoke with the pump cranked 100%!
I figure the pump, might as well do the injectors while i'm there?
For kicks & grins; have you tried a filter replacement to be on the safe side?

Does sound as though the pump is hosed. You should be able to get some black smoke with the pump fuel metering screw bottomed out, end of story.
Yes, replace the pump and injectors. A new timing chain may be the ticket as well, if it's too far hosed, but this is not very likely.

Look at Westers if you are going to buy a new pump. He has a high output pump that should add a lot more horsepower over an advanced stock pump. Thats gonna be my next purchase.
