I ordered a 2006 at the beginning of July. I just got word that I will see it at the end of Sept and that it will be a 2007. The salesperson could not tell me if I was going to get the dreaded 'particulate trap'. Does anyone know? I am obviously hoping that the early 2007 will not have them.

There's nothing wrong with the particulate trap. Mercedes has been using them for decades on their passenger cars. They are fine.

Your 2007 will be a "Classic" wich is identical to the 2006. Including the 2004/2006 engine. The new body 2007's (with the new engine emission controls) will be built after the first of the year. (Subject to updating)
