I just got the suburban back from the dealer, I went there to replace the A/C compressor and had them throw in an oil change and inspection. They said that the rear main seal may be leaking. Doe either the engine or trans have to come out to change this? Thanks.

The transmission would have to be dropped to replace the rear main seal, but depending of how bad the leak is, oil is relatively cheap if you can stand the spots on the grarage floor (I can't personally, so I fix any drips PDQ).
I did one in my old 302 ford t-bird, never in a 6.5 chev, but similar I suspect.
Seals are cheap, but labour not so much.
on edit "may be leaking" doesn't sound too drastically bad. May just want to keep an eye on it.
