Here's somthing I have wondered for a long time. How closely related are the GM's 6.5/6.2's to Detroit diesel? I know that GM used a small part of there Detroit davision to built them, but could you get away with calling them an actual Detroit diesel engine? The reason I ask is because I want to put some cut down semi mudflaps on a reciever hitch mounted bracket to keep the debris off the trailer. The ones I've seen on pickups around here look really good, but they all say Cummins, or CAT ect. I thought it would be cool to get some of the ones that say Detroit Diesel with there logo. Is this a good Idea or would I be labled a poser  Just a thought :D

They were designed and built by the Detroit diesel division.
Go for it. I would.
The real POS from detroit was the 8.2 liter it was a sad sack from the gitgo. Free floating cylinders held in place at the top by the heads. The gaskets were always leaving.

I also like those imblems I always thought they would look cool right above my door trim piece (K2500) in the indentation.
Speeking of two strokes my dad ran one in a very very large euklid (uklid, youklid, eauklid???? anyway) dump truck it was a V-16 twin supercharged two cycle with not much for a muffler  They called it HOLY MOLEY :D

LOVE THOSE EMBLEMS!!! I was looking for a set of the 6.5 emblems, but I think these will certainly raise a few more eyebrows!
