I am in the market for some new 6.5TD injectors. I can buy online and ship to Australia but the range and price difference is enormous.

So will the cheapest one do? or should I pay more for better?

Are they all the same injector at different prices? Or are some Better made?

Bearing in mind that I am half way around the globe, should I just get the job done locally, by replacing the nozzles on my injectors at $65 USD each?

I would appreciate any opinion.

I'm going to have to do mine sooner or later and my thoughts are without significant mods stock injectors are best.

So to choose from source I think its Delphi or Bosch as the main manufacturers ???. Both reputable just maybe Bosch as an independant supplier has more to prove with quality control than a GM owned subsidiary (spelling?). But thats just a personal hunch. Plus I think Bosch has the largest market share of the newer generation injectors and related systems so it stands to reason there technology is continuing to improve and top shelf.

The other important factor is distributor quality: shipping, packaging, and storage protection - shelf life and customer service etc. I don't have any experience with injectors so I am leary of Ebay I am going to go with a reputable supplier not sure yet though who Kennedy, Heath, other, or local Stanadyne shop. Depends on your comfort level with your local guy. Just for my piece of mind I am not going to worry about cost +/- a fair bit.

Looking forward to others opinions.

If I needed injectors I would use an advertisor on this website who helps support it.Kennedy Diesel is who I would use. You can also ask him questions and get a very knowledgable respose.

For what it's worth.... China discovered the 6.5L diesel market a couple of years ago, and began exporting a number of products to the U.S. ranging from cylinder heads to fuel injectors.

I've heard about a number of significant problems with these imported cyl heads. They're cheap, and people will likely buy them not knowing the "country of origin". Not me.... The same goes for fuel injectors. China is sending over container loads of knock-off Bosch 6.5 fuel injectors. Again, they're really cheap - in more ways than one.

When someone advertises cheap stuff, ask what the country of origin is.

FYI - All remanufactured 6.5 fuel injectors (in this country) get new nozzles.

Thanks for the replies. If I don't decide to use my local diesel specialist, I will use an advertiser on this site. Thanks for letting me know where some of the cheap parts are coming from. It is hard to avoid inferior parts if you aren't informed.

Cheers,

Noel

I used a local diesel shop I have had great luck with over the years. It cost me $256 USD for 8 injectors.
From where your at call Kennedy and let him take care of you.
As has been pointed out there is a load of junk on the market that you cant tell is junk untill you get it and it dont work.
Some ebay shops sell good stuff others dont. I have bought many good things off ebay but sooner or later I am going to get hosed its just when.

You may want to try Peninisular engine. They ship products all over the world. There may even be a marina in AU that uses their engines/products.
