Does any one know offhand how I would go about removing the axles in my truck? I have the locking differential. I know how with the stadanrd diff but I can't seem to get the spyder gears out. I already have my drums off and ready to go, just can't get that darn c-clip out. Thanx in advance...

Does your 2500 not have the Corp 14 full floater? If it does there are no C-clips.

I have the 2500 LD which is still only the 6 lug axle. I have c-clip because I can see them. I have the pinion shaft out but i need to know how to move the thrust block to get the clips out.

I looked in the 1996 factory manual, and it seems to skip that part...peculiar because it is typically quite thourough..Often wondered how its done too.

Hi Phil, ON my 1/2 ton I pushed the axles in (apx.3/4") and used a magnet on the C clips.

There should be a small bolt that keeps the cross shaft in place. Remove the bolt and push out the cross shaft, then the block can come out and you can remove the clips.
