View Full Version : Tool Box Mounting
I just bought a 55" under tarp tool box (DeeZee) and I am exploring the mounting options. What have others done? Should I bolt it to the bed or maybe to the box front? I also hear that you can get some sort of boltless mounting clamp that will hold it in place. Has anyone heard or seen anything about that?
Thanks :D :D :D
I used big 1/4 rivets into the bed floor. Your dealer/tech should have tons of them laying around (used to mount F-body window regs) and oughta be able to give u a handfull.

I bolted my box right to the bed using large fender washers and a 1/16 inch flat strap from bolt to bolt for extra holding ability. Since I didn't put a spacer between the box and the bed I used permatex on the bolts and under the strap to keep water from seeping in around the bolt holes. Some folks recommended that I use a piece of flat aluminum or 1/2 x 3 aluminum square pipe to set the box up away from possible water, but I didn't want the box that high so i just sealed the holes. So far so good.
