Hi All,
Had to share. I finally got 20 MPG in the Suburban. My truck has always registered very consistent mileage on the highway. I had been progressively getting better and better based on changes I was making. When I got the truck it was getting 14 MPG with a UNI filter only.
This past weekend I took a 375-mile trip to Albany, NY.
shoulda told me you were coming, I'd baked a cake...
;)
Congrats on making 20 mpg. I was never quite able to make it with my '95. I got over 19 a couple of times, but that was it.
CONGRATS ART!!!
How many miles do you have on your beast? If your running over a 100,000 miles and still have factory injectors on you might consider new injectors and I bet you pick up another 1/2 to 1 mpg.

Good Day!
Too bad you don't have 3.42 gears & live out here on the (flat) prairie - without the A/C on (only fixed recently), our Sub always get > 20 mpg on the highway. (I only drive the posted, & almost never 70 mph at that - my mpg drops precipitously over 65 mpg.)
Blessings!

I'd bet you get better mileage when you install those H2 wheels/tires. Thinking the tire change would bring it close to 3.42:1.....................this is where I did my best mpg w/burb.

Anyone know what the stock steel rim with trim ring weighs? The Hummer H2 rim is 30 lbs. My truck has stock size tires and 3.73 gears.
Thanks,
Art.
If they are anything like the newer aluminum Duramax rims, I shaved 22 lbs off each wheel by changing from the stock steel rims to the newer style aluminum.
