I bought a Mad dog transmision and found out in another post that there should be a number six on the torque converter and on the govenor. I found a part number on the torque converter that reads B29 and another number that says 06 and that is it. I have found no numbers what so ever in the rear of the housing for the govenor. John8662 told me about the govenor number. WHere should I look for the govern or number? I will call Mad dog tomorrow but doubt that I will be satisfied with their answer, because it seems no one understands these diesels.
Thanks,
Kyle

Not sure on the Governor, I'll be talking to my tranny shop this week about a shift kit install i'll pick his brain then. He actually acknowledges that GM built other engines besides the 350, he knows about the Diesel.

I installed a B30 convertor in my truck, not sure what the B29 is, how many lugs does this convertor have to attach to the flexplate?

The "6" on your convertor seems to indicate we have the same stall speed, so they probably did spec it for Diesel.

I specifically ordered the B30 because it had 6 lugs verses 3. The B29 could be the same convertor, just short the three lugs (not really a problem) I just obcess.

I think it has six. It is at my parents house because I can't reallly store it in my apartment, so I can't go look now. My govenor does have a green gear if that makes a difference or if it is even the govenor.

I can verify that the diesel governor has a green gear. I just recently had to order one for the rebuilt gasser 700R4 I had installed behind my 6.2L. The tranny shop guys swore they didn't know where to find the governors. So, I found one myself online.

That makes me feel better. What would happen if it had a gasser govenor in it when it was on a diesel?

The last rebuilt 700R4 gasser tranny I had just did not hold up at all with the gas governor. The tranny shop had to rebuild it twice during the year's warranty they give. They claimed to not know where to get a diesel governor.

Somebody else here said it best, "Techs who are superb builders of gas tranny's struggle with building them for Diesels".

Was the gas govenor gear a different color?

Yes, it seems like it was either pinkish or red.
