Changing heads in vehicle?

Hi I am getting ready to change out my 6.5 heads and put on a new set of clearwater 6.5 heads and gaskets. I remember someone saying that there were a couple of bolts that you had to install at the same time you sat the head in place. Is it possible to use an arp stud kit and do it in the vehicle or does the ac cover get in the way. I would really like to use the studs but hate to pull the motor if I can get by some other way.
