Easy question... do I use generic power steering fluid for GM vehicles? Mine is very low all of a sudden.

I just buy the stuff that's better than the auto parts "store brand."

Regular ol powersteering fluid...

I've always used transmission fluid in all my power steering pumps.

I used Type "A" ATF back in the old days in power steering.

p/s fluid ain't supposed to be red, there is a separate bottle. But, I've seen lots of ford owners do it cause they had such leakers of p/s pumps.

Ditto. ATF is also used in a lot of hydrualic systems on RV's for the slide-outs and leveling jacks. Very versatile fluid.

It helps cut down on various fluids in the garage. I have one bottle for my tranny and power steering.
