View Full Version : Exhaust manifold gasket?
Should a gasket be used for exhaust manifold installation for a 6.5 turbo?

there are several different sealing sufaces on these manifolds. As i am not sure which one is in question,
Manifold-to-head no gasket is required.
Manifold-to-crossover-pipe, flange gasket is required
Manifold-to-turbo, no gasket is required

Manifold-to-head no gasket is required is the one I am talking about. I have a leak which has created a whole now I need to change the exhaust manifold. Stealer wants to much money, so on the hunt to find one but I am not sure if all 6.5 are the same. I have heard different thing, is it true there is no gasket, if I by chance find a used one shouldn't you put a gasket?
I was thinking of exhaust manifold to head. Even though Felpro sells one seems like direct metal to metal is what your telling me is the way to go, thanks.

If the sealing surface on an otherwise good exhaust manifold is corrupted - just take it to a good automotive machine shop and have it resurfaced!
Kind Regards,
Rick
