Snorkel Size?

I'm considering an early 80's 3/4 2500 4x4 burb w/6.2 diesel, manual trans to setup for off road adventures, better fording, etc., I need input as to what diameter I should go w/snorkel?

I would think that 4" would be sufficient.

4". That is what I got. I routed mine out the front grill, it was broke there anyway!! I didn't make it one complete pipe so I could unscrew the part that goes up and then I get a "mini" ram air!!
