93' 1500 Silverado Trans ?

Thinking of buying a 1993 Chevy Silverado pick-up w/6.2 and auto, does it have the 4L80E trans. Any other good engine parts. It would be a parts donor for 86' K-30 pick-up. Thanks for your help. Would have prefered a 94' but have not seen any of these.

You have to determine whether the truck is a light duty or heavy duty truck to determine whether it might have a 4L80E in it. If the truck has 8 lug rims, it's highly likely, if it's 6 or 5 then it's probably got the 4L60E in it.

93 would be the last year 6.2L, and could possibly be the "good" block 6.2 that can bore to 6.5 down the road if necessary the '599 cast.

My '93 K2500 has the 6.5TD in it - that was the changeover year.

Hi, Thanks for the information. How did the 4L60E perform behind the 6.2. Any problems, which years was it used?

For my 4L80E upgrade to 86' 6.2 K30, I am thinking of using the steering column and dash from a 90 or 91 Suburban w/ the 4L80E trans to provide trans shifting and speedo MPH. Any know issues I may face?
