Could anyone tell me what the difference is between the regular 6.5 and the high output vin code F engine. What is the horsepower difference and was there any difference in any of the parts?....I have the high output but i wanted to know what the horsepower was on both engines.

i think the difference is 5 horsepower...190 vs 195. Actually the "F" engine just lacked the EGR valve. this means the intake is different as well.

The throats in the precups are bigger on the F engines as well. I think the power difference was more like 10 hp, too. Not sure, though.

Prior to 1997 (IIRC), the power rating on the F enignes was 190 hp and 385 lb-ft. The later F engines were rated at 195 hp and 430 lb-ft.

180 HP for the "S" engines, the other difference is the EGR equipment on the engine, as well as the mentioned different pre-cups in the heads.

I always thought all the turbo'd engines used the same pre-cup. I could be wrong.

In '94 (only) the two versions had different injection pumps.

"S" power was 180/360 and "F" power was 190/385, IIRC.
