I found this on ebay. Does anyone have it? Do you think it will work well?

It might work if you're running a serpentine belt setup. Otherwise the fan turns the the opposite way on v-belt setup from that of the serpentine.
Need to measure the blades on your stock fan.

Do you think it is overkill, adn that I should just get the kenedy upgrade? I will have serpentine and will need to trim my fan shroud.

There is a fella on ebay that shaves the blades on the dmax fan from 21 to 20 inches I think (it's been awhile since I looked at one). It's basically spun and shaved so the blades end up being the same length and still balanced.
I have one for my '95 6.5, didn't get to try it long enough though to see if it was any different from the steel blade fan I had prevously. My metal was bent from a shipping thing...
I do have the KD fan clutch, it's a worthy upgrade. I would seriously consider it on the 6.2, because the stock 6.2 clutch for the most part is almost inoperative under normal driving. Plus, the stock fan simply doesn't have enough blades, where the later 97+ fan does. The KD cluctch IMO works bests for us fellas that like to run 180 stats in everything verses 195's.

You know, it's too bad SSD doesn't say anywhere on his web site that many of his 6.5 product concepts were borrowed from right here..... that I/we developed/published. For example, the '97 coolings mods didn't exist as a concept for installation on earlier models till we did the development and design work, and then published the results. Likewise for the Duramax fan use on a 6.5... and so on.....
Encourage him to help support this web site as a vendor....

MP,
Yeah, I was gonna say the same, I hate giving the guy any credit for anything, cause I know he's just ripping off ideas and concepts from the originator.
We all know the truth though!
Heck, when receiving the blade, there was a folded up printed instruction sheet on how to modify the fan clutch spring on a stock fan clutch. You know what it really was? It was a print off of this very forum, a post by another member! I was floored to see that there was not even an attempt to re-type and elaborate on it, just thrown in. Had a hand written warning that the information contained on the sheet was for informative measures only (paraphrasing of course). Gee, like a REAL member couldn't find that information theirselves...
The only reason I even considerd the shaved fan is because I didn't want to risk getting taken on another steel blade fan to arrive bent due to improper packing. I also wanted something bolt-in, so that I could possibly go back to steel w/o a modified shroud for comparisons sake. One of these days, if I ever receive all the parts to put my engine back together

A full size Dmax fan fits my fan shroud without any trimming. The clearance at the top is probably 3/8".
With the KD fan clutch, it will engage if I drop from 65 to 55 in Dallas afternoon traffic, sucking air until the o-so-accurate GM water temp gauge reads 160.
