View Full Version : Black Smoke
Lots and lots of black smoke when I accelerate hard. I presume dirty injectors..anyone have any advice on troubleshooting / cleaning them?
Cheers!

More likely low (or no) boost so the black smoke is unburned fuel.
Got gauges? EGTs will be higher than normal.
Check air filter and tube for blockage or collapse. If not that, check wastegate controls for problems.

I have the same problem, when just driving I've got 0-2psi and 4-5psi when I step on it. Thanks

Search for the Homemade boost fooler - can be done cheap, and I'm getting 13+# going over the Homestake pass at 65+mph.

Your boost controller is vacuum actuated, either the diaphram in the canister has failed ( test this) or the vacuum pump itself has stopped pulling a vacuum. either will produce low boost and excessive black smoke
