When my ac kicks in it stops dead, squealing the belt, is it possible to be just the front bearing, or not?? Has anyone tackled this before??

NOT the bearing. The bearing works only when the compressor is OFF. When the compressor is disengaged, the bearing allows the pulley to turn w/o the compressor.
If it stops dead when engaged, the compressor is seized.
Problem is the compressor, not the bearing.

It is most likely the compressor. However, the bearing does still support the pulley and allow it to turn when the clutch is engaged.
