Hi all-

I am still trying to learn about the difference in all these pumps. This pump is on eBay (Item number: 8068963813) and says it is for 88-89 6.2L. I ran the P/N on usdieselparts.com and they list it as an arctic model for the 24V HMMWV.

My questions are:

What is the difference between arctic and heavy duty and light duty?

Are all of these pumps interchangable throughout the years?

Is there some place I can go on the web or on the forums to get a comprehensive overview of the injection pumps?

Thanks

Stanadyne updates its fuel injection pump model numbers so often that its really hard to maintain an up to date and fully comprehensive DB2 fuel injection pump list. A Stanadyne authorized service center (like USDP) might be a good place for info.

In general, you could use that pump on a 6.2 civilian engine, but you'll first need to replace the 24v solenoids with 12v units.

The "Arctic" models incorporate hardened components that allow the pumps to better deal with #1 diesel, kerosene, or jet fuel, due to use in the "arctic" or on the battlefield. These hardened components might be a good thing to have in a typical civilian application... :)
